What is Disciple Bible Study? An approach to Bible study that emphasizes disciplined reading of and listening to Scripture. It results in biblically nourished persons committed to live as disciples. During the course of 34 weeks, Disciple groups move through the Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation. All participants in Disciple I will read more than 70 percent of the Bible. The Scripture for each session follows the chronological movement of the biblical story. Disciple groups meet weekly for approximately 2 1/2 hours. Each participant makes a commitment to daily preparation (30-45 minutes per day) and weekly attendance at study sessions. Disciple calls on persons to put themselves under the power of God’s word.
Disciple Bible Study Groups will be offered in the fall. You do not have to be a member of High Street UMC to be in one of these classes -- friends and relatives are welcome. Disciple I must be completed prior to taking one of the other Disciple classes. If you are interested in participating in a Disciple Bible Study Group, please complete the following sign-up sheet and place it in the offering plate or return it to the church office.
DISCIPLE BIBLE STUDY Note: Courses and times for DISCIPLE will be determined by the responses we receive.
