Meet our MINISTER

 Rev. E. Cary Simonton

 

 

The Rev. E. Cary Simonton came to High Street United Methodist Church July 1, 2006. He and his wife, Holly and their two daughters, Harris and Haviland, reside at the parsonage, 2624 Rebecca Drive, Springfield, Ohio 45503.

Rev. Simonton was born and raised in North Carolina. His father was a North Carolina Conference United Methodist pastor, so they lived in several cities in the eastern part of the state. He graduated from high school in Durham, NC and subsequently attended and graduated from The University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC with a B. A. in Religion and Philosophy. He then attended and graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity.

Rev. Simonton has served churches in New York, North Carolina and Ohio. Most recently, he has been a Coach and Consultant for Leadership and Congregational Development with the Cincinnati and Columbus North Districts. He also teaches urban theology and strategic planning across the country with the General Board of Global Ministries.

Rev. Simonton’s wife, Holly, is the daughter of a West Ohio Conference United Methodist pastor and spent her formative years in Cincinnati and Lebanon, Ohio. She has a B.A. in Social Work from The University of Cincinnati and a M.SW from The University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC.

Holly and Cary’s daughters have spent all their years in Cincinnati. Harris is 13 years old and Haviland is 10 years old.
